This is the final newsletter from the WalNUT project. Over the past years, we have achieved significant milestones in advancing wastewater cycles for nutrient recovery. Through the successful operation of our five pilot plants and extensive field trials, we have achieved impactful results and published groundbreaking work. WalNUT has laid a strong foundation for continued innovation and further improvements in this important field.

In this edition, we are pleased to share our latest results and revisit the highlights of the WalNUT final event — celebrating our achievements, reflecting on key outcomes, and looking ahead to the next steps that will build on the project’s legacy. You will also find a dedicated pageflow guiding you through the project’s journey and main impacts, as well as the publication of the 54 EIP abstracts, showcasing the breadth of innovation and knowledge generated throughout WalNUT.

Last but not least, the final episode of the “A Chat with WalNUT” video series has been released. This edition showcases the contribution of NTUA to the project and presents its pilot activities and results.

As we conclude this journey, we would like to sincerely thank all partners, stakeholders, supporters, and members of our community who have followed and contributed to WalNUT. Your engagement, collaboration, and trust have been essential to the project’s success.

Although this newsletter marks the official end of WalNUT, the work does not stop here. The knowledge generated, the partnerships established, and the solutions demonstrated will continue to inspire progress toward more sustainable and circular nutrient management systems.
