Published on 08 Apr 2025

WalNUT partners recently reunited for the 2025 General Assembly to evaluate the progress made up to month 42 of the workplan and the remaining tasks to be undertaken. This gathering marked a pivotal moment, as we enter the final year of the project.

A significant highlight of the event was a dedicated workshop focused on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). This session facilitated in-depth discussions and knowledge-sharing on the progress and future results, with contributions from the University of Southern Denmark (SDU), the University of Copenhagen (UCPH), and the University of Coimbra (UC). Discussions revolved around the progress and plans for LCA work handled, followed by an exploration of infield nutrient inventory modelling. The session also included an in-depth analysis of LCAs, covering all the WalNUT pilots and allowing participants to review advancements and address key challenges.

Looking ahead, WalNUT will be issuing interviews related to LCA in the coming weeks, providing valuable insights from experts and partners involved in the project. Additionally, factsheets will be released, offering a detailed overview of each pilot and their technologies, further supporting transparency and knowledge dissemination within the initiative.

As the project enters its final phase, the commitment of all partners remains strong, ensuring that the last steps are as impactful as the journey so far. Stay tuned for further updates on the project’s outcomes and findings.
