The factsheets offer a clear and accessible overview of cutting-edge nutrient recovery solutions being implemented at WalNUT’s pilot sites across Europe.
As part of its ongoing dissemination activities, the WalNUT project is releasing the first set in a series of five factsheets showcasing innovative technological solutions for nutrient recovery from diverse wastewater streams. Designed to be both user-friendly and visually engaging, these materials aim to inform and involve end-users, wastewater professionals, stakeholders, and policymakers.
The technologies featured address critical challenges in nutrient recovery from sources such as industrial and urban wastewater, food processing effluents, sewage sludge, and brine from desalination and demineralisation plants. Each factsheet highlights one of the five demonstration sites where WalNUT’s solutions are being piloted.
Each document focuses on one of the five pilots where WalNUT’s innovative technologies are being tested.
This initial edition includes factsheets on the following pilots:
- WW N recovery: urban pilot, Belgium – Responsible partner Aquafin NV, with contributions from UGent
- Smart BBF system: sewage sludge pilot, Spain – Responsible partner CETAQUA
- ABC-BioPhosphate: food pilot, Hungary – Responsible partner 3R-BioPhosphate Ltd.
