Our partner University of Turin will hold an insight session on Water Reuse during this year’s edition of ECOMONDO, taking place at Rimini (Italy).
Water scarcity is one of the most relevant problems of our time, exacerbated by climate change and increased global demand. At the same time, water reuse represents a fundamental strategy to address this crisis, starting with reuse in agriculture (the area of greatest consumption of water resources), but also in industrial and urban settings. The session organized by the University of Turin on Water Reuse within Ecomondo intends to give space to the multidisciplinary aspects of water reuse, from innovative technologies for water treatment to risk assessment, from social acceptance to economic, environmental and energy sustainability .
The conference will bring together experts in the water resources management sector, researchers, entrepreneurs and representatives of institutions to discuss the strategies and crucial aspects for the implementation of water reuse. Case studies and research activities will be presented, animating the discussion around rethinking water resources in the perspective of the circular economy and fit for scope treatments, to overcome the concept of waste water in the future and go towards the idea of a water-based factory.
During the session, Prof. Massimo Pugliese will hold a presentation of the WalNUT platform as an online tool to enable matchmaking between stakeholders in the waste water treatment and fertilisers value chains.
