Workshop WP5 – Impact assessment

The WalNUT WP5 workshop will present the project’s impact assessment results, showcasing how innovative nutrient recovery technologies for domestic and industrial wastewater perform from environmental and economic perspectives. Participants will gain insights into Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Techno-Economic Assessment (TEA) of key technologies demonstrated in WalNUT’s pilot cases, including microalgae treatment, ion exchange, membrane contactors, ammonia stripping–scrubbing, biochar adsorption/fermentation processes, and SWRO brine treatment.

The session will feature presentations from project partners, followed by Q&A, and a closing discussion on the implications of the results for advancing circular, nutrient-recovery-based wastewater management in Europe.
